Swing Patrol

I went to a swing dancing class on Friday night with some friends from skating. It's held at 'Sidewalk Tango' in Richmond, and includes a one hour class and then social dancing for a couple of hours for just $12.

For one thing it was heaps of fun to learn the rock 'n' roll moves and dance with the huge group of people that were there. Some cute girls too! And the teachers were young and witty. But the real bonus was the social dancing afterwards, where I got to watch people who really knew how to do this style of dancing! They were going nuts! The energy level is so high, and there's kicks and jumps and slides all over the place. It's almost like watching Grease or something - the dancers are that good! I had an absolute blast! I'll definitely be going back next time (it's on every 2nd Friday). Catherine will love it! She couldn't make it this time because she was moving house, but I just know she'll flip over it. Lately our normal ballroom dancing class has been becoming a bit stale and slow, and we have been trying to mix it up and add a bit of energy, so this is exactly the shot in the arm that we need!

Funny!

How's this for a joke:

A little girl sits by a cliff crying her little eyes out.

A priest comes walking up to her and asks "what's the problem little girl?"

She answers, "I was out here playing, and mommy and daddy were sitting in the car. All of a sudden, the car lurched forward and went over the cliff. Now, they're lying down there, all dead, and I'm all alone here and don't know what to do"

The priest smiles, starts unbuttoning his cassock, and replies, "this just isn't your day, is it?"

haha :)

Camera Phone Pic o' the Day

Gelatissimo!

This is a franchise of gelati stores that are done up to the nines. The staff are all dressed immaculately in white uniforms, the shops are perfectly outfitted, and the gelati is decorated with the product it represents; ie. fresh strawberries in the strawberry, chunks of block chocolate in the chocolate and passionfruits in the passionfruit! Display-wise, everything looks delicious!

And the verdict? Taste-wise, it's REALLY delicious!

I caught up with Belinda last night, who I went to university with in Queensland many moons ago, and we went to Papa Gino's for dinner (yes, we ordered the Capricciosa pizza Webby!), and then followed it up with this! Beautiful!! I thoroughly recommend you check it out - on Lygon Street.

The Tangoooooooouch!

Well, I managed to injure myself again last night in ballroom dancing. I was spinning Catherine in the Tango and something in the top section of my right glute yelled out at me. I'm not sure exactly which muscle it was, but the message was loud and clear: sit down right now son - the night is over. It was very painful. It still hurts today when I walk.

It prompted Catherine to say jokingly in a childlike voice, "I need a new dance partner, mine's broken." :)

Camera Phone Pic o' the Day

Well, here's most of my 2nd place prize! There is also a few bottles of wine which are yet to be delivered -- I should be getting those in a couple of days. But the pack contained a stack of body / facial products, 3 Swatch watches (1 male, 1 female, 1 kids), a Swatch ring, four pairs of sunglasses, a Gloria Jeans voucher, a $50 Marcs voucher, and a CD! Gotta be happy with a swag like that!
